West of Winchcombe area - Archaeological Surveys being undertaken

21/4/2016

Within the last week news  of men in hi viz jackets operating on land behind Delavale Road and Orchard Road was reported.  Apparently the area is was being excavated for an Archaeological survey.
This follows a Geophysical survey that was carried out several weeks ago and is usually a pre cursor to a planning application being developed or prior to one being submitted.
Yet another example of locations in WInchcombe being identified for development profit over Winchcombe and it's natural resources being able to cope with such potential development.

Neighbourhood Plan consultation at Tewkesbury Borough Council

21/12/2015

Winchcombe Town Council in November voted to send the Neighbourhood Plan to Tewkesbury Borough Council for comment and compliance checks.
As part of TBC's review they are asking residents to comment and constribute on any matters they feel are relevant to their understanding of our Neighbourhood Plan.

The Friends of Winchcombe Committee are currently preparing a submission on your behalf, but we would encourage anyone with views about the Neighbourhood Plan, the sites identified for development or the general content to make their own submission and state clearly how flawed we believe the current NP is.

Winchcombe Neighbourhood Plan
An update for those who are not aware of the progress of the Neighbourhood Plan.
It has now been completed and voted on by Winchcombe Town Council.
The next stage was to submit it for comment by Tewkesbury Borough Council to ensure that the contents fits in with their interpretation of planning laws and local plans.
There wil be an additional consultation period surrounding this and we encourage all to be involved in this, prior to it be examined by the Independant Examiner.  After thus the plan with any comments or requirements to adjust will be returned to WInchcombe Town Council for it's next stages.

Almsbury Farm site development - Sudeley Castle communicates to the whole of Winchcombe on the scale of the plans for the Old Almsbury Farm site and surrounding fields.

West Of Winchcombe – Winchcombe Town Council and Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group announce postponed need for one area on West of Winchcombe only to have more activity in adjacent fields and surveyors looking at feasibility for development of the adjacent area.

Again a critical time for local feeling to be made clear to WTC and TBC on these plans.
